About Us

Wally Dutton bought the shop in 1971 when he was just a youngster! He can remember when there was 3 other butchers shops in the village. He is the last remaining butcher in the village. In 1986 he under took a major refit of the shop, where he discovered that the shop was in fact a stable before it was the local bakery!

Wally trained as a animal grader for the Meat and Livestock Commission before coming a butcher, which now stands him well in his dealings with the local farmers where he buys some of his stock.

The shop currently makes a lot of its own produce, Sausages, Burgers, Cooked Meat, Stir n fry, Meatballs and Black Pudding to name a few items. We also supply local Pubs and restaurants as well as being a major part in a local pilot project for Cheshire West and Chester Council's Local Food for Primary Schools.

We have been nominated for UK TVs Local Food Hero's 2 years running.
